What's So Special About Christ Seminary?

Christ Seminary is a very unique seminary in many respects and the only one of it’s kind according to our knowledge on the African continent. Maybe someone can tell us of a similar seminary elsewhere.
  1. It is local church based which means that the students can see what they learn in class modeled in a local church setup.

  2. While the Seminary serves the purpose of world mission, there is another official ministry of Christ Baptist called Samaria Mission that is involved in church planting and leadership development. The students have an opportunity to be involved in this as well. It keeps the balance between education and mission.

  3. Because our students attend class 9 days out of each month, they all spend the rest of the month applying what they learn in ministry. Their questions during the next session is more experience based.

  4. Because we raise the funds for our programme we are able to train quality students who would otherwise never be able to receive training as most of them are living under the breadline.

  5. All our lecturers are involved in the practical ministries of Christ Baptist Church. Therefore they lecture from essence and not just from academic achievement. They can therefore say with boldness ‘do what I do’ and not just ‘do what I say’.

  6. Much value is put on books, therefore we raise the funds to provide our students with all the books they need. For most of these men coming from rural villages their library will be the only library in the whole village. At their graduation all students receive a set of commentaries on the whole Bible.

  7. Much emphasis is put on one on one mentoring. All students are subdivided amongst the lecturers. Students are visited in their churches as well to ensure that they are able to put into practice what they learn in class.

  8. The relationship with CBC through it’s fraternals and conferences ensure a continuation of input into the student lives.

  9. Because of our modular programme we ensure that students do not stay in South Africa after their studies, but they return to their villages.
And the list goes on . . .
