Welcome to The Master's Academy International

As churches around the world strive to obey the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), they are confronted with the Great Dilemma: “How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?” – Romans 10:14 read more

Mission Mobilization Memo

Spain32A report from Spain

In 2010, Evangelical Church of Leon, Spain, under the leadership of The Master’s Seminary graduate David Robles, began holding quarterly conferences for church leaders called “Berea.” These conferences, devoted to critical theological topics as well as practical ministry issues, modeled expository preaching and put a spotlight on the sufficiency of Scripture in all of life and ministry. The conferences attracted pastors and church leaders from all over Spain and even a few from the neighboring countries of France and Portugal. Over the years, Evangelical Church of Leon began to gain a reputation for strong biblical exposition and a faithfulness to God’s Word.

In 2011 the church also began a weekly training program on expository preaching for the preachers, teachers, and elders of its own church. This program was also called Berea. Soon, word started to spread about the training and in 2012, Berea joined TMAI and started modular classes in the southern region of Andalusia for a group of 15 men from six different churches in the region. As demand for the training grew, Berea received requests from churches from various parts of the country to provide similar training.

To meet this great demand, in November, Berea will start a formal modular training program hosted at Evangelical Church of Leon. The three-year program will consist of five modules a year and will emphasize Bible interpretation, exegesis, pastoral ministry, and expository preaching. Upon completion of the program, the students will receive a diploma in expository preaching and will continue to minister in their home churches. Already, Berea has a full class of 30 students who will start in November and still others are expressing interest.

BEREA Faculty and Students, 2014

The Lord has put before Berea a wonderful opportunity for strengthening local churches, and the ministry is looking for partners in this endeavor. The total cost per student for this first year of the program is $1,000, or $30,000 total. Each student will be required to cover half of these costs, which means that $15,000 is needed for scholarships to help pay for textbooks, student room and board, guest professors, and other administrative costs. Will you consider partnering with Berea to equip pastors and church leaders in Spain?

Thanks to the generosity of a TMAI partner, the first $5,000 of donations will be matched!

Josh is serving as Youth Pastor at Auckland Bible Church—a suburban church with tremendous gospel outreach potential in the largest city in New Zealand. Zohar is serving as an evangelist to thousands of Jewish tourists to New Zealand each year in Oamaru. Reuben is currently pursuing further theological studies at The Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles and plans to return to pastoral ministry in New Zealand in 2014. These are three faithful men whom the Lord is using in mighty ways.

What I heard here opened my eyes more to see the need for people who teach how to study and teach the truth. I want to deepen my studying and my understanding and do better with what the Lord gave me to do in my church.
