Equipping Local Churches For Maturity
Japan Bible Academy (JBA) was formed at the request of several national churches to train pastors in Japan to become faithful shepherds who can preach the Word faithfully and accurately. JBA is a theological institution that works closely with like-minded local churches to help them mature in Christ and provide them with the shepherds they need.
Training For Godly Leadership
While many seminaries in Japan struggle to recruit new students, JBA believes that exposing the saints to the exposition of the Scriptures will generate a greater desire for them and others in their influence to know the Word and to serve the Lord, which will create an inflow of students for pastoral training. JBA is accomplishing this through its annual preaching conference, seminars, and Lay Leadership Training classes, which are designed to identify men who are seeking to become future pastors/elders. For those pursuing or engaged in pastoral or teaching leadership ministries, JBA offers a two-year Expositors’ Training Program to provide skills for thorough and accurate biblical exegesis and exposition.
JBA is based in Tokyo and holds classes online and also at various churches across Japan, with churches in Kagoshima and Sapporo having completed JBA’s Lay Leadership Training curriculum.
Making Disciples Biblically For God’s Glory
In 2019, recognizing the need for Japanese churches that prioritize expository preaching and biblical shepherding, JBA assisted with the planting of a church (Megumi Bible Church, or MBC) that would model the teachings of the training center in the heart of Tokyo. MBC meets at JBA headquarters and aims to glorify God by equipping disciples for the building up of the body of Christ.
